The Australian Olympic Committee have today announced the opening of applications for the NSW Junior Athlete Grant.

The NSW Junior Athlete Grant is designed to provide financial assistance to athletes who reside in New South Wales and are between the ages of 13 and 18 in the calendar year 2022.

The application must be submitted by the Equestrian NSW on behalf of the athlete. Applications will be considered for athletes who satisfy the criteria below:

Athletes must:

Be an Australian citizen and a resident of New South Wales
Be between the ages 13 and 18 as of 31 December 2022
Compete in a sport on the Olympic Summer or Winter Olympic program

Not be a professional athlete.

Each State Sporting Association whose sport is on the Olympic Program (Summer & Winter) are eligible to nominate ONE athlete to receive one of the ten available $1,500 grants.

Only ONE nomination will be accepted from each State Sporting Association.

The program aims to provide increased opportunities and assist with funding for the development of up and coming NSW athletes. The Grants target non-professional athletes that do not currently receive significant funding from AIS, NSWIS, State or National Sporting Bodies or via individual scholarships.

Successful and non-successful applicants will be notified on 16th May 2022.

Nominations are now being accepted until 20th March 2022.
